Tommy Marquez
Tommy Marquez took a rather unorthodox path towards being in the media and broadcast space. Originally a professional in the mental health sector, he found CrossFit over a decade ago as a personal physical outlet for his stress after his best friend introduced him to this place called "the Ranch," in Aromas, California. After opening an affiliate, and switching careers to work as a trainer in the CrossFit space, he sweet talked his way into helping out the CrossFit Media team in their regional coverage for the 2011 season. A lifelong die-hard sports fan and athlete himself, Tommy's passion for sports and sports media carried over into his work with the media team until it became his career and passion with the help and support of friends like Sean Woodland, Rory Mckernan, Pat Sherwood, Joe Novello, and Charlie Dube (along with many others). He's since had the opportunity as a host, analyst, producer, and color commentator to cover the CrossFit Games season on ESPN, CBS, and CBS Sports network along with various other outlets since 2014. Tommy's enthusiasm and love for the sport and the CrossFit community is best evidenced by the fact that he wakes up to Sean Woodland's call of the 2016 Men's Suicide Sprint every morning.
